Eligibility & Criteria

Ordinary Membership

An Ordinary Member is a Malaysian citizen and:
  1. a recognised specialist in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and other fields related to the nervous system, OR
  2. a specialist registered under formal Neurology subspecialty training program in a local institution, OR
  3. a person whose postgraduate qualifications (PhD and equivalent) in one of the disciplines of Neurosciences are acceptable to the council, OR
  4. a person who has shown significant contribution to MSN and has accepted an invitation from the MSN Subspecialty Chapters/Council(s) to be an ordinary member
AND
  1. who agrees to comply with all the provision of the Articles, by-Laws and Regulation of the society, AND
  2. whose name is duly enrolled and remains so enrolled as an ordinary member on the register.

An Ordinary Member pays an annual fee of RM50.00 only


Affiliate Membership

An Affiliate Member is a non-Malaysian citizen and:
  1. a recognised specialist in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and other fields related to nervous system and who is employed in this capacity in Malaysia, OR
  2. a person whose postgraduate qualifications (PhD and equivalent) in one of the disciplines of Neuroscience are acceptable to the council and who is in continuous employment in an academic position in Malaysia for no less than 12 months,
AND
  1. who agrees to comply with all the provision of the Articles, by-Laws and Regulation of the society, AND
  2. whose name is duly enrolled and remains so enrolled as an affiliate member on the register.

An Affiliate Member pays an annual fee of RM50.00 only


Associate Membership

An Associate Member is:
  1. a Malaysian citizen who is
  2. ia medical officer or a general physician or a clinician in other fields, who has given proof of interest and activity in the fields of Neurosciences, OR
  3. iia qualified paramedical/research staff, graduate or postgraduate students who are engaged in activities related to the various fields of Neurosciences, OR
  4. a person who has shown contribution to MSN and has accepted an invitation from the MSN Subspecialty Chapters/Council(s) to be an associate member
OR
  1. a non-Malaysian citizen who is currently employed in the capacity of (i), or (ii) in Malaysia

An Associate Member pays an annual fee of RM20.00 only


Life Membership

Life Membership shall be open to
  1. good standing ordinary members with at least 1-year of active membership subscription, OR
  2. good standing affiliate members with at least 3 years of active membership subscription and have rendered active participation in the society, service to the society or promotion of the goals of the society in Malaysia.

A Life Member pays a one-off payment of RM300.00 only
