- Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Section, Malaysian Society of Neurosciences.
- Status
- Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Section (CNNS), Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN) is a chapter within the Society representing members of the MSN with an interest in clinical neurophysiology and/or neuromuscular disorders. All financial and legal matters will be dealt through the Executive Committee of the MSN which is an officially registered body by the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia
- Objectives
- To promote education and training of health professionals in the field of clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders
- To continue to improve the practice of clinical neurophysiology through advice on methods, techniques and interpretation of results in clinical neurophysiology
- To promote research in all branches in clinical neurophysiology and related sciences
- Activities
- Organising educational workshops, public forums, professional meetings and conferences in the various fields of clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders
- Developing a curriculum in training and criteria in certification in clinical neurophysiology for postgraduate neurology specialist trainees and neurology technologists
- Accrediting centres for the training of specialists and technologists in clinical neurophysiology
- Accrediting centres that provide clinical neurology tests services
- Publishing local guidelines and criteria for methods, technique and interpretation of results in clinical neurophysiology
- Developing and publishing consensus statements on clinical standards of diagnosis and management of patients with neuromuscular disorders
- Initiating and coordinating research related to clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders. This may be in collaboration with other relevant bodies within the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences or other organisations
- Membership
- Membership is open to all members of Malaysian Society of Neurosciences and will include physicians, scientists and healthcare professionals with an interest in clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders
- The section shall have a minimum of ten (10) members
- All members shall have the right to vote on any changes to the rules and regulations of the section and to stand for election as office bearers
- Section Executive Committee
- The members of the section shall elect among themselves an executive committee composed of a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer (and other office bearers as necessary) to administer the affairs of the section. The term served shall be a maximum of four (4) years
- He/She shall have the general and active management of the affairs of the section and chair all meetings of the section. He/She shall be responsible to provide an annual report to the Executive Committee of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences of the activities of the section
- The Secretary shall be responsible for the record keeping of the affairs of the section and record the minutes of all meetings of the section
- The Treasurer shall be responsible for keeping accurate accounts of all the financial affairs of the section and be responsible to report these accounts to the Executive Treasurer, Malaysian Society of Neurosciences
- Changes to Rules and Regulations
- Any changes to the Rules and Regulations of the Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Section shall be subject to a vote by all members of the section and approved by the Executive Committee of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences
- Meetings
- The section shall meet at least four (4) times a year. The quorum for such meetings shall be at least five (5) members of the section
- The annual report of the affairs of the Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Section shall be discussed at the Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences
